Forbes Under 30 Nomination
This page is just for you, Forbes panel! I'm hoping this overview of my career helps you understand why I belong on the Forbes Under 30 Marketing & Advertising list, which is a major dream of mine. Nearly every waking moment during the last 7 years has been spent pushing the boundaries and expectations of modern marketing, whether as a marketing strategist at IBM Watson and Marketing Director at Kickstarter, an educator at New York University and General Assembly, or mentor for the most innovative startups at Techstars, WeWork Labs, and Chobani.
IBM Watson + Kickstarter
Currently executing a strategy position at IBM Watson, specifically product marketing for IBM Watson Marketing. Day-to-day, I'm developing positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies to ensure the success and longevity of its marketing campaign management and automation solutions.
As Digital Marketing Director at Kickstarter, I started as a team of one, then built the program from the ground up by creating the strategy and hiring the current team. Most notably, I was a key leader in Kickstarter's first rebrand and new product launch (Drip) since its original 2009 launch.
New York University and General Assembly
At age 27, I was invited to create and teach web analytics in New York University's Marketing Analytics Bachelor of Science degree program. I was the youngest Adjunct Faculty member to create a required semester degree course and teach it. Since then, I've also written and taught a second required semester degree course: social media marketing and analytics.
At age 25, I started teaching General Assembly's 10-week marketing business course. Since then, I've taught over 2,000 students and 100 classes at General Assembly.
Mentoring and Speaking
The rest of my free time, outside of fulltime marketing positions and teaching, is spent mentoring the next generation of marketers and leading tech companies and speaking at conference across the world. I love helping people discover passion in marketing, while also empowering the most innovative startups to use marketing as a crucial tool for their success.
I'm currently a mentor for WeWork Labs, expanding on previous experiences being the Growth Marketer in Residence at Techstars and a marketing mentor for the Chobani Food Incubator.
However, my mentoring isn't just for business use cases. I'm an Advisory Board Member for Explo, an education non profit that's helped nearly 100,000 students from 70+ countries explore and discover their purpose. While also recently starting a 2-year commitment to mentor 2 future first generation college students through the college application process.
